We support the Walungu health care zone
with the following objectives:
- To
ensure a continued provision of
curative medical care in the hospital and health centers, mainly
in the fight against malaria, tuberculosis, respiratory and intestinal infections, leprosy, epilepsy, diabetes, AIDS,
malnutrition...
- To intensify preventive medicine through prenatal
and preschool consultation: monitoring
and assistance of pregnant women, monitoring of child growth and
development, screening of malnourrished infants, enlarged vaccination
programs.
- To
promote community involvement and democratic mechanisms in the management of health services.
- To
contribute to the training of nursing
students, nurses and young doctors; to ensure continuous updating of
their training, both in the Walungu hospital
and in the health centers of the zone.
- To
participate in the supply of medicine,
medical and educational materials, office supplies.
- To
improve the population's
food safety. The
population should have access to a minimal ration of
proteins and energy available either through outside sources or
through local production efforts.
